New Mexico medical malpractice attorney Thomas "Ty" Wood is an attorney at his father and mentor's law firm, James Wood Law. He currently fights for his clients' rights in medical malpractice cases as well as personal injury cases in Albuquerque and across the entire state. Mr. Wood is admitted to practice in New Mexico and Colorado as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th circuit.

Prior to fully applying himself to studying and eventually practicing law, Mr. Wood received an undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008, graduating cum laude, and later completed a master's degree program at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2011.

Mr. Wood then went on to attend the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he served on the New Mexico Law Review's Editorial Board and worked as a teaching assistant to a first-year legal writing class. He was also a clerk for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and also for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender. Mr. Wood graduated cum laude from law school in 2014. After completing law school, he worked for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender as a deputy state public defender. His experience with the Colorado Public Defender's Office shaped his passion for defending the rights of the underprivileged.

After working as a deputy public defender, Mr. Wood joined his father's firm, where he works to defend those who have been wronged by insurance companies and other corporations. He remains committed to zealously advocating for the rights of the underprivileged.

Mr. Wood has been recognized as a Rising Star Super Lawyer in 2020 and 2021.
