Bio

Kirk has been practicing law for 37 years and has extensive trial experience in various areas of litigation. The primary focus of his legal practice is representation of victims of burn trauma. Typically, these cases include house fires, gas leaks, electrocution and electrical shock injuries, car fires, scald burns, grill fires, industrial accidents, as well as gas can explosions. Kirk also represents individuals harmed by defective products, as well as automobile accident and other injury claims

Since 1998, Kirk has been board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Advocacy. This distinction is shared by less than 50 attorneys in South Carolina. He also is board certified in Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy.

Kirk has served as president of The Melvin M. Belli Society, a national organization comprised of 500 attorneys with extensive trial experience. In the year 2000, he was chosen as President of the Lexington County Bar Association. He is past president of the South Carolina Association for Justice, a group comprised of over 1,300 trial attorneys who devote their primary practice to the representation of individuals and small businesses.

He was selected to Super Lawyers from 2009 - 2021. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state. The Super Lawyers selection process takes into account peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors.

This year, Lexington County citizens voted him “Best Litigation Attorney” for the 9th year in a row as per Lexington Life Magazine.

Kirk is a frequent guest lecturer in various legal events around the country. He is licensed to practice law in both South Carolina and Texas, including the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
