Bio

Oscar Rene Gutierrez practices law as a trial attorney with his father, Oscar H. Gutierrez, in the Highland Park neighborhood of northeast Los Angeles. Their practice focuses exclusively on litigating and trying personal injury matters across the state of California on behalf of injured consumers. The vast majority of Oscar Rene’s legal work aids the monolingual Spanish-speaking community in southern California. He has successfully tried numerous criminal and civil trials to verdict.

His career demonstrates a deep passion for trial work that has garnered him accolades from both local and national organizations. Oscar Rene has been named to The National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40 – Civil Plaintiff” in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2016, he was a nominee for the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) “Rising Star” award. He has been recognized as a Southern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Oscar Rene served as the 2019 President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County (MABA). He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), the Board of Directors for the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and the Executive Committee for the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA).

Fluent in Spanish, he has given numerous Spanish-language presentations discussing oral advocacy and the jury trial system in the United States to Mexican law students, attorneys, and judges throughout the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Additionally, he has provided Spanish-language legal commentary for Univision 34 Los Angeles and MundoFox on numerous occasions. In September 2018, Oscar Rene was one of nineteen past and present bar leaders recognized by LACBA in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. In October 2019, he was recognized as an “Héroe de la Comunidad” by Univision-34 Los Angeles. In February 2020, he was recognized by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) with the prestigious "Top Lawyers Under 40 Award."

Oscar Rene is the proud son of immigrants from Guadalajara and La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico. He is a 2002 graduate of Loyola High School of Los Angeles, a 2006 graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), and a 2010 graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law.
