Bio

Mr. Vinovich is a trial lawyer who represents victims of medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury with extensive experience handling complex litigation and obtaining multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements. He is partner and attorney for 34 years at Hilbrich Cunningham Dobosz Vinovich & Sandoval, LLP with offices in Crown Point, Highland and Portage, Indiana. He holds an “AV Preeminent Rating” by Martindale-Hubbell® (highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards). He was also named an Indiana Super Lawyer® in plaintiff’s medical malpractice. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Vinovich was born in 1965 in Newport, Rhode Island and grew up in Northwest Indiana. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Purdue University with majors in Political Science and History in 1987. He received a law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1990. He is admitted to the bars of the State of Indiana and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Indiana where he regularly practices.

President of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) in 2012-13. Chairman of the ISBA House of Delegates in 2008-09. He served four terms on the ISBA Board of Governors and was three times a member of the ISBA Executive Committee. He chaired many ISBA committees, including the Board and House Nominating Committees, Budget and Finance Committee, Member and Membership Benefits Committee, Succession Planning Committee and Leadership Development Academy.

Mr. Vinovich has also been active in the American Bar Association (ABA) and Lake County Bar Association (LCBA). He was a member of the ABA House of Delegates for six years. He served as President of the LCBA, Board of Director for twelve years and was Chairman of several committees. He was group leader for the Boy Scouts' Explorers Program in Lake County.

He is an Indiana Bar Foundation Life Patron Fellow and served as Board of Director. He is a Sustaining Member and Board of Director of Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Now an emeritus member with the Calumet American Inns of Court, Mr. Vinovich served as Secretary.

In 2021, Mr. Vinovich was appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to the Disciplinary Commission. He was twice elected by his peers to serve on the Indiana Judicial Nominating and Qualifications Commissions. He served as lecturer and moderator at law related conferences, served as judge pro tempore, as well as being appointed mediator and arbitrator on numerous cases.
