Bio

Charles Buist is the co-founder and managing partner at Spetsas Buist Accident Injury Lawyers, PLLC in Orlando, Florida. He’s licensed in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina and handles complex personal injury and wrongful death cases across these states.

Mr. Buist graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina, School of Law, where he got his juris doctor. He also graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina, Darla Moore School of Business, where he got his MBA. Finally, Mr. Buist got a Master’s from Vermont Law School in environmental law and toxic torts, and he graduated with honors from that program.

During law school, Mr. Buist was the Research Editor of the South Carolina Law Review, and he won the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in legal writing, advanced legal writing, federal taxation, and criminal procedure, which means he got #1 in his class in each of those subjects. Mr. Buist was a Dean’s List student every semester of law school, a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe, and he was research assistant to Professor Wadie Said.

After law school, Mr. Buist clerked for two different federal judges over the course of 3 years. First, he clerked for the legendary trial judge, The Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr. at the US District Court. Thereafter, he clerked for Chief Bankruptcy Judge, The Honorable David R. Duncan. Charles is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, as well as in the District Court of South Carolina, the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Buist is a people person, and he loves helping his clients. He has a number of 5-star reviews on sites like Avvo, and his firm has a tremendous number of 5-star Google reviews. He understands that although each lawyer may have many cases, each client only has one case and should be treated with dignity, care, and respect.
