Bio

Robert “Bobby” O’Neal has worked very hard over the years advocating for those who have been seriously injured or has lost a loved one through no fault of their own. Bobby believes in fighting for what is right and just on behalf of his clients and assuring that they receive all of the justice they deserve. He represents his clients with passion and zeal. Bobby views his profession as more than just a job; to him it is an honor and a privilege to achieve justice for his clients in the court room.

Bobby has always wanted to be an attorney from a very young age. He grew up in a small town (near Tappahannock, VA) where the ideals of honesty, integrity, and hard work were instilled in him. He has a very close relationship with his family, his church, and his community.

Attorney O’Neal attends churches all across the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is very involved in his community and with the youth. Bobby has been a mentor to many aspiring students seeking advice regarding college, law school and career development. Attorney O’Neal is often asked to speak in programs directed to inspire and encourage the youth in the community. He gives his time and financial support freely to worthy causes and feels a deep rooted obligation to give back to those who are less fortunate.

Bobby graduated from the Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, CO in 1988. He then attended the University of Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Rhetoric and Communications. At UVA, Bobby was elected to student counsel and was the President of the Rhetoric and Communication Society. He worked part-time while attending UVA and yet he still graduated a semester ahead of his class. Attorney O’Neal has always embraced challenges and still does so today by representing deserving clients on very tough cases.

Upon graduating from UVA, Bobby worked for 5 years in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster which has given him a very unique and valuable perspective. From this experience, he knows how insurance claims offices operate and how to maximize his client's recovery.

In 1995, Bobby attended the T. C. Williams School of law at the University of Richmond while working part-time to support his family. In 1997 during his 2nd year in law school, he began working as a law clerk at Cannella & Associates [now Cannella & O'Neal where he is now partner]. For over 20 years, Bobby has fought to represent those whom would otherwise have no voice in serious injury and wrongful death cases. He understands the importance of his role as an advocate and the enormity of the responsibility he carries for those most in need. He does not back down from challenges and he embraces every opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his clients.
