Robert C. Duthie III, known to all as “Bobby”, has been practicing law in Colorado for over 38 years, establishing a solid reputation for his excellence in oral argument and trial strategy. Attorney Duthie was born in Vallejo, CA (1952) but grew up in Durango, CO excelling at skiing, golf and debate while in high school. After a stint in the U.S. Navy, Bobby received a B.A. in English Literature from University of Colorado and then a Masters in Business Administration (Finance/Marketing) before entering law school at the University of Tulsa College of Law and receiving his J.D. in 1981. Bobby returned to Durango and joined his father’s law practice that same year. As a long-standing pillar of the legal community, Attorney Duthie is distinguished for his professionalism and ethics. Most of his legal career he has specialized in criminal defense, insurance defense, personal injury, and has emphasized a broad Trial Practice. After many years as a solo practitioner, he was joined by his nephew, Attorney Anthony Savastano, and Attorney Ryan Brungard; forming Duthie Savastano Brungard, PLLC in October 2015. His many years of experience make him well versed in many areas of law and capable of representing clients in all criminal and civil proceedings in local, state and federal courts. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys, Colorado Bar Association, the Southwestern Colorado Bar Association, a U.S. District of Colorado Court Judicial Panel Attorney, and a member of the State of Colorado’s Sixth Judicial District Nominating Committee. Bobby is a strong advocate of giving back to his community and has volunteered his time and energy to many local organizations including as a past board member of Hillcrest Golf Club, VOA’s Southwest Safehouse, iAM Music Foundation, the Durango Arts Cente and the Community Foundation of Southwest Colorado. In his free time, Bobby and his wife, Lana, love to travel and spend time with their many friends and family, (“Papi” to his four grandchildren), and he remains an avid skier, airstreamer, golfer and cyclist.
