Bio

Born and raised in the mountains of Western, North Carolina, Concord attorney Lucas T. Baker (Luke) grew up in a place where basic common sense values meant something. His mother and father instilled in him at a very young age the importance of working hard, treating people fairly, and looking after the less fortunate. It's no wonder that Luke has always gravitated toward standing up for those who have been treated unfairly by those in positions of power.

Luke hasn't always worked as a trial lawyer. After college at Appstate, Luke worked as a landscaper in the Charlotte area, running a landscaping crew, operating heavy equipment and beautifying countless commercial and residential properties in the Charlotte-Metro area. Many of Luke's projects are still standing (and growing) to this day. But eventually Luke felt a calling to pursue a career in law, particularly in seeing the injustices faced by his non-English speaking crew members in regard to pay and working conditions.

Luke attended law school at Campbell University School of Law. Back then, the law school was located on the main college campus in Buies Creek, North Carolina. There Luke was a natural at his studies, excelling in almost all of his courses, especially those focused on litigation. Luke graduated law school with honors, 4th in his graduating class overall.

After law school and passing the North Carolina Bar Exam, Luke's first job as an attorney was with a local firm in Concord, North Carolina in which Luke practiced in many areas of civil litigation, but found his passion in representing Plaintiffs in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. Eventually, Luke opened his own law practice, where he has practiced exclusively in those areas of law, and in select insurance bad faith cases.

Luke's describes his practice as a "custom shop", where each case is handled based on its unique needs. For this reason, Luke purposefully limits the number of cases he handles. If he didn't, then he wouldn't be able to provide the high level of service which he's come to be known for among clients and colleagues alike. It therefore comes as no surprise that many of Luke's cases are referred from other attorneys.

Luke has recovered millions for his clients over the course of his career, with multiple high-six and seven figure settlements and verdicts. It comes as no surprise that Luke is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars, as well has having been a faculty member of a prestigious national trial lawyer's college. Luke is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the American Association for Justice and the North Carolina State Bar. Luke is admitted to practice before all Courts (state and federal) in North Carolina.

Luke resides and maintains his primary office in Concord, North Carolina, just North of Charlotte on I-85. Luke represents victims of serious personal injury and wrongful death across the state.
